The first scheme to be approved by Preston City Council’s planning committee was an application by Rowland Homes to build 155 properties on a parcel of land within the former Ingol Village Golf Course site, in Tanterton Hall Road.
Access would be obtained from Tom Benson Way to the north, as approved under hybrid planning permission which had already been secured. This would also provide access for subsequent development parcels situated to the south of the site.
Detached, semi-detached and mews properties
The proposed houses would consist of a mix of detached, semi-detached and mews properties, including two, three and four-bedroom dwellings. A total of 46 affordable homes are proposed.
Ingol Golf and Squash Club is an 18-hole golf course on approximately 173 acres of land.
New depot for Preston Bus
Also approved at the meeting was a project to construct a new depot building and workshops for Preston Bus Ltd.
The bus and coach company has secured permission for the construction of a building to be used as a depot following the demolition of several industrial workshops.
60 car parking spaces
The application for the Deepdale Road site proposes two car parking areas. A small car park to the front of the building and a large car park to the north of the internal access, with 60 car parking spaces for staff and 19 spots for visitors and management, is proposed.
It is also proposed to create 128 parking spaces for buses. In addition, when buses are out on routes, the bus parking area would double up as overflow parking for staff, providing an additional 40 spaces. The vehicle parking within the site will be managed by car park marshals.
