How Do You Avoid Carbon Monoxide Poisoning in Your House?
Carbon monoxide, or CO, is an odorless, colorless gas that can kill in seconds. It can cause sudden cardiac arrest and death in high concentrations. Over 400 people die from carbon monoxide poisoning each year and 20,000 more visit emergency rooms. The most common way for carbon dioxide to poison a person is by burning fuel in a car or small engine. When this fuel is not ventilated properly, it can accumulate and kill a person.
